ShopLite privacy information
ShopLite is designed for business records, stock and sales. We limit collection to information needed to provide, secure, support and improve the service.
Installation insight is deliberately limited
For privacy-safe release and referral measurement, the Android app may report only a random app-local installation identifier, app version/build and an optional referral code. ShopLite does not use this feature to collect IMEI, phone contacts, precise location or an advertising ID.
Information used by ShopLite
- Account and business details supplied during registration, sign-in, password recovery, support or staff setup.
- Products, stock movements, sales, payment-method labels, costs, prices and reports entered by authorised business users.
- Subscription references, plan status and gateway verification results. ShopLite does not store a card PIN, readable account password or OTP.
- Ambassador application, terms acceptance, referral attribution, commission and settlement records needed to operate the programme.
- Password-reset request, expiry, one-time-use and session-revocation records, plus other security and service logs needed to prevent abuse, diagnose failures and protect accounts. ShopLite does not store a readable copy of an account password.
How information is used
We use information to operate ShopLite, synchronise authorised business records, provide reports, administer subscriptions and Ambassador settlements, respond to support requests, maintain security and understand release adoption. We do not ask merchants or Ambassadors to send passwords, PINs or one-time codes to support.
Password recovery
Reset links expire after 30 minutes, work once, and a new request supersedes every earlier unused link. A successful reset revokes all existing ShopLite sessions. Use only the newest link delivered to the account email, and never send that link to support.
Offline records and synchronisation
Before treating an offline sale as safely queued, ShopLite writes the complete pending receipt to device storage and reads it back to verify the exact stored payload. The basket is cleared only after an online receipt succeeds or that durable read-back succeeds. If device storage rejects or drops the write, the sale is not presented as completed and the basket remains available for retry. A safely queued receipt remains on the phone until it synchronises successfully. Users should protect the phone with an appropriate device lock and deactivate staff access when it is no longer needed.
Payments and settlement accounts
Available payment providers and banks process payment or settlement information under their own notices and compliance rules. ShopLite keeps the references and status needed to verify a subscription or commission. A screenshot or uploaded receipt alone does not activate a subscription.
Access, correction and support
Authorised users can correct many business details inside ShopLite. For privacy or account questions, contact support@shoplite.africa and describe the account and request without including a password, PIN, OTP or full card details.
